Standard First Aid BLS Renewal Course
Welcome to the Standard First Aid BLS Renewal course.
The Standard First Aid BLS Renewal Course is intended for Healthcare Providers. This course explores Primary and Secondary considerations around the provision of care. High-quality CPR is practiced to achieve the best outcomes for a person in Cardiac Arrest. The importance of the Automated External Defibrillator is discussed and explored as an important intervention in preventing death. Airway, breathing and circulatory challenges are discussed in the context of Shock. This one day Canadian Red Cross course is different from the lay provider Standard First Aid course in that there is a focus on Healthcare Provider (BLS) CPR skills. CPR training includes bag-valve-mask use, pulse checks and the various CPR ratios.
Course Details
- Time: 8:00 – 4:30 pm
- Duration: 1 Day (6 -8 hours)
- Cost: $130.00 + GST = $136.50
- (A Digital Version of the BLS Field Guide is available within your course notification registration email).
- Certificates: The Canadian Red Cross issues an e-certificate to your Red Cross user account.
- Certificates are valid for three years for the Standard First Aid course and one year for the BLS component.
- Breath for Life accepts valid Standard First Aid BLS certificates from approved agencies
- You must take the full course if your certificate has expired
- Parking is Free
- Please note: This course is not equivalent to the Heart and Stroke BLS Provider Course
