Registration: Terms and Conditions

Registrar Hours: 9AM – 4PM Monday to Friday excluding weekends, holidays and stats. Courses are delivered outside of Office Hours. Course Hours: Courses are delivered on weekdays, weekends and holidays as per the schedule of each course illustrated on the Breath for Life website (www.breathforlifeinc.com). Course start time is 8AM. Location: Breath for Life operates at 4443 – 99 St. Edmonton Alberta (T6E 5B6). Parking: Parking is free in the Breath for Life stalls at the front and back of the building. Please be mindful of how you park to maximize all available spots. There is also ample street parking (walking distance) available on 44th and 45th Ave. Access to the building is the back entrance where you will be signed into your course. The door is marked: “Student Entrance”. Please DO NOT park in stalls that have been designated to other tenant’s on weekdays (Monday – Friday); parking in these stalls is acceptable on weekends only. Welcome to Breath for Life! Breath for Life thanks you for taking the time to review its general course policies. Specific courses have different nuances to the terms and conditions but the following are general considerations which we believe reflect a compassionate approach to your registration. Please note: Breath for Life reserves the right to update these policies without informing the registrant and the most current policy edit will be applied to any dispute or challenge.
1	Punctuality	Being on time for your course is mandatory and it is expected that you arrive on time. Late arrivals disrupt course delivery and based on governing body oversight 100% of course attendance is mandatory for certificates to be issued. If you arrive after the door is locked, for which you exceeded the acceptable time-frame around what would be regarded as reasonably late, access to the course you paid for will be denied and you will be regarded as a ‘no show’. No refund/credit, reschedule or accommodations will be considered based on a late arrival. The expectation is that participants arrive before their course starts and not after. Breath for Life opens its doors to the public 1/2 hour prior to the course start time; please arrive early and take advantage of prime parking.
2	Contact	Breath for Life can be reached by emailing breathforlifeinc@shaw.ca. Priority will be given to emails. Any and all correspondence, regardless of reason or need, must be in writing. Breath for Life’s commitment is to respond to your email within the same business day: If you correspond after business hours, a response will be returned within the next business day. Breath for Life will not answer its phone during registrant intake prior to a course, during sanitization of the facility (this occurs multiple times throughout the day), while in a classroom, when in meetings and most importantly when corresponding to a customer who contacts the office by email; If you contact Breath for Life by email, about your need to cancel, reschedule or postpone your course after business hours, your request will default to the next business day and policies will apply accordingly. Should you decide to leave a message at 780-434-1368 the message provides clear email instructions.
3	Attendance (no-show)	Your registration payment (cost of the course) reserves a seat for you, specific to the date and time of the course you chose. This is a one-time opportunity to attend your course and your registration does not reserve another session for you unless supported by policy. If you are unable to attend (no-show) your course on the day(s) of your course, for whatever reason, and notify Breath for Life of your absence within the final sale window of the course (3 business days), no refunds, credits or accommodations will be considered. This applies to informing Breath for Life of your absence within the final sale window of the course, on the day of the course, after the course and to arriving late (what would be considered unreasonable) for your course.
4	Final Sale	Final Sale status is given to your registered course: When a course is marked ‘Full’ on the website. 3 business days prior to your course start date and any registrations received within this time period. This allows us to plan and prepare based on your commitment to attend the course. Business days does not include evenings after 4pm, weekends and/or holidays. If you require to cancel your course during this period or no-show on the day of your course, for any reason, there will be no consideration of a refund, credit or reschedule. This applies regardless of whether a course is marked as ‘Full’ or not on the website. This also applies if you register into a course during the final sale window. When you register into a course held on a holiday or holiday weekend. Purchased materials are final sale and will not be refunded. Final Sale means that Breath for Life Inc has no obligations to issue refunds, credits or provide accommodations during this period of time.
5	Cancellations and Reschedules	As per Point 4, if you request to cancel, reschedule or postpone your registration, due to unforeseen circumstances (refer to #8), within the final sale window of the course no refunds, credits or accommodations will be honored. Given this the following applies whether a course has been marked as ‘full’ or not on the website. If you request to cancel your registration, prior to the final sale window, a refund minus an administration fee set at $50.00 of the registration cost, will be charged. This administration fee varies based on the cost of the course. If you request to reschedule your course before the final sale window, one FREE reschedule will be granted. No other requests to reschedule will be honored: your registration will be considered final sale. Reschedules into a future course must be completed within 30 days of the change. PLEASE NOTE: If you have registered into a renewal or recertification course and have requested to reschedule, if your certificate expires during the wait period for the upcoming rescheduled course date, you will be required to take a full course. In this case a credit of your original payment will be applied to the full course and the difference between the expired recert course and the full course will be charged. The administration fee will apply to reschedule you into the full course. No other changes to your registration will be honored and your registration will be considered final sale. Reschedules into a future course must be completed within 30 days of the change.
6	Incorrect Course Selection: Mistakes Happen	If a request is made to change your course, within the Final Sale Window, because of an incorrect course selection, Breath for Life Inc will apply your course cost as a credit to a different course and change you into the required course FOR FREE. Any course cost differences will be applied. No refunds will be honored. No other changes or reshedules will be permitted. Reschedules into a future course must be completed within 30 days of the change. Because you are in the Final Sale Window of the course, if Breath for Life cannot accommodate a change into the correct course that you require, or you decide to cancel your course, no refunds, credits or accommodations will be honored. If you have selected an incorrect course, and it is realized prior to the final sale window of the course, Breath for Life Inc will apply your course cost as a credit to a different course FOR FREE. If the request is for a course of higher value, the course cost difference will be charged. No refund will be offered if the course rescheduled into is of lesser value than the amount initially paid. No other reschedules or changes will be honored and your registration will be considered final sale. Reschedules into a future course must be completed within 30 days of the change. If Breath for Life Inc cannot accommodate a change into the correct course that you require, and you wish to cancel, the cancellation policy (#5) applies. PLEASE :NOTE: If you have registered into a renewal or recertification course and have requested to reschedule, if your certificate expires during the wait period for the upcoming rescheduled course date, you will be required to take a full course. In this case a credit of your original payment will be applied to the full course and the difference between the expired recert course and the full course will be charged. The administration fee will apply to reschedule you into the full course. No other changes to your registration will be honored and your registration will be considered final sale.
7	Unforeseen Circumstances	If you are unable to attend your course (no-show) for whatever reason and notify Breath for Life of your absence, on the day of the course (final sale window), after the course has started and/or finished Breath for Life will not honor requests for refunds or reschedules. Depending on the course start time, if your arrival results in you being greater than 15 minutes late you will be regarded as a no-show regardless of reason. If you require a future course it will be at the full registration cost.
8	Substitutions	Regardless of the above, if you are required to cancel, and are able to transfer and/or surrender your course registration to someone else please email the office the name, email and course details around this change and your registration will be transferred to that person: email is breathforlifeinc@shaw.ca. By surrendering your reserved seat to someone else you accept the loss of a refund/credit. An email will be sent confirming the transfer to both parties involved. When the transfer has occurred, if that person requires to cancel, reschedule or postpone no refunds/credits or accommodations will be considered (the registration status of this person is final sale).
9	Minimum #	Breath for Life’s commitment is to deliver the course that you register into; as a company we have a reputation to Never Cancel Courses. Based on minimum number enrollment requirements imposed on Breath for Life by its governing bodies, on the rare occasion that a minimum number of registrants do not enroll in a course, Breath for Life will inform the registrant(s) of this occurrence. Breath for Life will email the registrant(s) within two business days of the scheduled course start date and reschedule you into a future course corresponding to a date that is scheduled on the relevant course page. The course must be completed within 30 days of the original course registration. If a date does not work, Breath for Life will refund your registration payment.
10	Incomplete Course	If you do not complete your course, or decide to leave your course, within the timeline of your course, regardless of reason, no refunds/credits or accommodations will be honored.
11	Safety	To keep our school safe and clean for everyone, shoes worn outside must be removed at the door. Outside footwear is not allowed within the Breath for Life premises. Please bring a change in footwear so that you will be comfortable throughout the day. Breath for Life takes pride in delivering your course in a facility that is cleaned to a very high standard.
12	Respect	Breath for Life has the right to work in a respectful environment. Behaviors that are regarded as unkind and disrespectful will not be tolerated. This will result in an immediate dismissal from your course without a refund, credit and/or accommodation. The expectation of respect also applies to email communications. Please communicate politely and respectfully. Respect of Facilities: behaviors that would suggest disrespect of Breath for Life’s facility, property, equipment, etc will also not be tolerated.
13	Certificates	Upon successful completion of your course, Breath for Life Inc promptly advises either The Canadian Red Cross or the Heart and Stroke of course completion. Both organizations populate the certificate to the registrant’s account. Breath for Life Inc advises the governing bodies shortly after a course is over, about course completion. It may take up to two days to realize your certificate in your account. Breath for Life does not have access to your certificate and it is up to the registrant to know how to access their certificate for future reference.
14	Special Accommodations	Special accommodation requests must be made to breathforlifeinc@shaw.ca. This will include the need for a table and other incidentals. Breath for Life will not accommodate late arrivals beyond 10 minutes past the start time and our doors are open to the public 1/2 hour before course commencement time. Those dropping off a person, will not be allowed to stay during the delivery of a course unless their presence represents a registration into a course: there will be no accommodations around this consideration.
15	Material Items	Purchased materials are final sale. You must request your purchased material at the course. If you leave purchased course material behind it will be your responsibility to arrange a pick up time. Any refund requests around forgotten material will be denied. Alternately, you may make arrangements to pick up your material or request shipment of your material at the set rate of $45.00+tax by emailing: breathforlifeinc@shaw.ca. Items left behind will be held in lost and found for no more than 2 weeks. If email communication around the item is not received within this time frame, Breath for Life will either discard the item or donate it.
