Learn More about the Intermediate (Standard) First Aid Courses

The Intermediate (Standard) First Aid course is the most frequently taken course by companies and individuals requiring First Aid and CPR Training in their workplace. This course is offered as a two-day in-class session or as a blended option. Also, if your certificate is current within three years, which means it is not expired, you may recertify into the Intermediate (Standard) First Aid Renewal course.

The Intermediate First Aid Courses are approved by Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) through the Canadian Red Cross. The Canadian Red Cross is among the largeset workplace safety training provider in Canada, and the Breath for Life (First Aid Education) Inc, offers comprehensive Intermediate, Basic, Childcare and Advanced First Aid courses among others. Under current provincial regulations, certifications must align with current CSAZ1210: 24 standards. As the nation is transitioning from Standard First Aid to Intermediate First Aid designation, based on CSA requirements, Breath for Life (First Aid Education) Inc utilizes both identifiers for ease of recognition when selecting the correct course.

Workplace Intermediate certificates are valid for 3 years. Employers must verify that the First Aid Training received matches the regulatory standard for their workplace. As per the regulatory standards, an expired certificate does not qualify the holder of the certificate for a renewal or recertification course: no extensions can be granted when a certificate is expired and the individual(s) would be required to take the complete Intermediate (Standard) First Aid course again.
