Breath for Life (First Aid Education) Inc is an approved Red Cross Instructor Development Center (IDC). Breath for Life (First Aid Education) Inc has trained many Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructors in the Edmonton community and surrounding area and as a leading provider of Red Cross First Aid and CPR Programs we would be honored to facilitate your journey in excelling as a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructor.
The 5-Step Red Cross Certification Pathway to becoming a First Aid and CPR Instructor includes:
- Prerequisites & Skills Evaluation: You must be 18+ years of age and hold a valid participant certificate for the level you wish to teach, plus pass a skills evaluation
- Fundamentals of Instruction: Complete an 8-hour online Red Cross theory-based module followed by a 14.5 hour in-class session
- Discipline-specific Classroom Component: Take the specific training
- Teaching experience: Complete practice teaching or a co-teach under supervision
- Certification: Final sign-off to receive your certificate on the My Red Cross Portal
