Red Cross Psychological First Aid
This course will be delivered using Team Skype as scheduled. You will receive an email prior to your course with instructions on how to join. During this uncertain time we reserve the right to postpone/reschedule a Skype session depending on class numbers (min 4 participants) and/or the situation with COVID-19.
During this stressful time, taking this course may help you cope more effectively with the uncertainties of life. The Psychological First Aid course helps participants recognize the impact of stress, loss, trauma and grief and focuses on effective coping techniques. Two pre-course learning modules (online delivery), Care for Self and Care of Others, prepare the participant for in-class discussions around recognizing and helping people who need emotional support. This course has been endorsed by: The Alberta College of Social Workers, The Alberta College of Paramedics (30 credits for Continuing Competency), and Alberta Health Services (Continuing Education Credits for Paramedics and Allied Health Staff). Psychological First Aid Course Details
- Method of Delivery: During the Coronavirus two online modules will be completed and the in-class session will be team Skyped
- Time: 9:00 – 5:30 pm
- Duration: 1 day
- Cost: $150+GST = $157.50
- (Includes Participant book, self-study online modules, and Look, Listen, Link, Live cards)
- Certificate: The Red Cross will issue you an e-certificate which will be available in your Red Cross user account (in-class details will be provided). Certificates are valid for three years.
