As Breath for Life continues to follow Public Health requirements the in-class session is running as scheduled. Maximum class sizes (to meet and exceed social distancing directives) will be 12 participants per class. During this uncertain time we reserve the right to postpone a class if minimum numbers are not met (6 participants). Please check your course date below to view its status.

Red Cross Psychological First Aid
During this stressful time, taking this course may help you cope more effectively with the uncertainties of life. The Psychological First Aid course helps participants recognize the impact of stress, loss, trauma and grief and focuses on effective coping techniques. Two pre-course learning modules (online delivery), Care for Self and Care of Others, prepare the participant for in-class discussions around recognizing and helping people who need emotional support. This course has been endorsed by: The Alberta College of Social Workers, The Alberta College of Paramedics (30 credits for Continuing Competency), and Alberta Health Services (Continuing Education Credits for Paramedics and Allied Health Staff). - Certificate: The Red Cross will issue you an e-certificate which will be available in your Red Cross user account (in-class details will be provided). Certificates are valid for three years.
